Well, here we are—almost a year in from our first episode of The Lowdown Podcast, which debuted in April of 2024. As it turned out, that first episode was popular right off the bat, with a lot of listeners interested in guest Michael Uhlarik’s insight into the EV moto scene.
The Lowdown Show Podcast Episode 1: Motorcycle Designer Michael Uhlarik
Things grew from there. Some podcasts discussed the recent moto news; in others, host Neil Graham interviewed veteran industry insiders, round-the-world travelers, racers and filmmakers. Graham and ADVrider managing editor Zac Kurylyk even had a chance to pretend they were Siskel and Ebert with a look at last summer’s The Bikeriders, a rare motorcycle film to hit the mainstream.
But our best episode was probably this interview with ADVrider founder Baldy. The story of how our forum was founded, bringing together riders from all over the US, and then all over the world—and then add in Baldy’s own incredible life story? Inspirational stuff indeed.
Who’s listening to The Lowdown Podcast? By the numbers, the demographics pretty much line right up with the age demographics with our forum. As you’d expect, most of our streaming was to listeners in the United States, but we had listens from 37 countries in total this year—and counting! The year isn’t over yet…
The Lowdown Show made it as a Top-10, even a Top-5 show for hundreds of fans on Spotify, so far, our popularity rating for the podcast is 4.5 stars out of 5… and we’re still in the middle of figuring out how to do all this!
Much thanks to eBay for sponsoring us through 2024, and we look forward to seeing what we can do in 2025!
