KTM’s presence at EICMA has been a bit odd this year. While some updated and new KTM 390 models are on display, we have not received the usual press release emails with information about them as we have with many other bikes. At first, we thought it was just us, but other outlets are reporting the same thing. All we have are some pictures of their display at EICMA from KTM’s press site. All of the filenames begin with “MY25,” which indicates that they are intended to be 2025 models.

Let’s start with the literal writing on the wall behind the updated KTM 390 Adventure R, which claims it to be “The next era in hardcore adventure travel.” It has a new frame and subframe, which are clearly visible if you compare this photo to the 2024 model. It actually looks more like the 390 Duke. It features larger wheels, a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear. We can barely make out the new off-road swingarm. While the advertised adjustable WP Apex suspension is visible, we don’t know if it differs from last year’s model. We can see a new rally tower, windshield, headlight, and a different five-inch TFT display than before. The high front fender is more appropriate for off-road riding, but the lower exhaust is not.

An Enduro R joins the 390 lineup, complimenting its larger 690 sibling. It appears to have a similar 21/18 wheel setup as the Adventure R, as well as the new frame design and swingarm. Stickers for a WP suspension are visible on the forks, perhaps similar to the Adventure R or possibly with different settings for more serious dirt use.

Again mirroring the 690, a supermoto joins the 390 lineup. The frame and swingarm look similar to the other models, but the exhaust, which looks similar to the 390 Duke, and 17-inch wheels are more appropriate for its street-oriented purposes.
We’re only speculating at this point, but it would make sense for the updated LC4c engine introduced on last year’s 390 Duke to make its way into all three of these models, as well as its slipper clutch, ride-by-wire throttle, and extensive electronic rider aids, including the cruise control that some inmates have confirmed. We wish we could tell you more, but that’s all we know until KTM gives us some information besides these photos from the floor at EICMA. Do you see some detail I missed? Let us know in the comments.
